Transfer Money

We offer several different methods of funds transfers based on the nature of the transfer.

eTransfer resides within our Digital Banking system, and is an easy way to move money where you need it anywhere in the U.S. eTransfer has two services: Transfer Funds and Send Money.

  • With Transfer Funds, you can transfer money securely between your BFSFCU accounts and accounts at other financial institutions.
  • The Send Money option allows you to transfer money to someone else’s account at another financial institution.

For international transfers, you may use our eWires service, also conveniently located within Digital Banking.

How does eTransfer work?

When BFSFCU transfers or receives money to or from another financial institution, the money transfer is processed through a secure network called the Automated Clearing House (ACH). Each business day, financial institutions process transfer requests on the ACH network, which routes the funds to the appropriate receiving bank. The receiving bank processes the arriving ACH transfer, and credits the receiving account.

This process generally takes three business days to complete. Weekends and federal holidays are not considered business days for the purposes of ACH transfers. For your convenience, we also offer next-business day service for a $3.00 fee.

Special Note: There are limits on the amount of money that can be transferred online and these limits can vary. Please consult the Terms of Service when you access eTransfer within Digital Banking.
