At BFSFCU we are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation closely, and as conditions evolve, we continue to evaluate and adjust measures to protect our staff while serving and supporting our members.
As a precautionary measure, we have decided to temporarily close our branch locations as of March 13, 2020 in response to the nationwide COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak as well as confirmed cases in the District of Columbia and neighboring states.
As the global impact of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak continues to evolve, BFSFCU is closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC and we are taking measures to help mitigate the potential spread of the virus.
International and domestic wire services are now available.
International wire transfers to established beneficiaries are now available. We are in the process of resuming international wire services.

The service outage for international wire transfers through Travelex is expected to run into next week. Please refer to this article for more detailed information.
BFSFCU’s international wire service is temporarily unavailable due to a technical issue affecting Travelex’s system. A team of IT and cyber security experts is working diligently to restore the affected systems.
According to a preliminary investigation done by Travelex, there’s no sign of personal data being affected. The company doesn’t have an estimated time for resolution of the issue.
Until all systems are restored:
Travelex Foreign Exchange ATMs located at the IMF HQ1, IMF Branch and IFC Branch have not been impacted by the outage.
BFSFCU’s Domestic Wire Services remain available to members and have not been affected.
